Producer, songwriter and dance floor filler one-man-show Muscles is back with a new record, a new tour and a new mixtape for your downloadable, listening pleasure. Muscles second record Manhood is due out June 15, 2012 via Modular. The night after Manhood comes out, Muscles will be hitting the road to promote his long-awaited sophomore LP. The week before Manhood comes out, however, Muscles has uploaded a brand new mixtape titled Road To Madness , which you can download for free and pass off as your own at parties.
Music Feeds’ Alexander Chisholm recently reviewed Manhood, describing the record as “well produced” with songs such as Brainfreeze having “a psychedelic feel with a groovy bass line”.
When speaking with Music Feeds’ Kiel Egging, Muscles said he was trying to make a record that was somewhat of a departure from his debut LP Guns Babes Lemonade.
“I didn’t want to make Guns, Babes and Lemonade Part 2″, Muscles said. “Guns, Babes and Lemonade was very pop, so I was like, I can’t get any more pop, I’ve just got to get weirder or experiment more, but not stray too far from what people expect from me.”
