Gene Simmons Apologises For Calling Prince’s Death “Pathetic”

Gene Simmons has taken to Twitter to clarify and apologise for comments he made earlier today about the death of Prince.

The Kiss vocalist had suggested that Prince was “pathetic” and that his drug use was to blame for his own death.

Now Simmons has posted a statement, apologising for his comments and for not expressing himself in the way he would’ve liked. “I just got such shot from my family for my big mouth again,” he said.

Simmons clarified that he often gets angry at people who use drugs because of “what drugs do to the families/friends of the addicts”, and that in his experience users have “made [his] life and the lives of their loved ones, difficult”.

“Needless to say, I didn’t express myself properly here,” he admitted. “If I think I’m right, I’ll throw up a finger and dig my heels in and laugh. But this time, I was not. So, my apologies”.
