KISS legend Gene Simmons has postponed his first ever Australian solo tour, which was scheduled to kick off next month.
Following a logistical reshuffle, the bass Demon will now be headed down under in August and September of 2018, with the new dates coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the release of his debut solo album.
Simmons’ live dates will see him perform a bunch of faves off the record as well as other tunes from across his huge catalogue, backed by the Gene Simmons band.
He’ll be hitting the same previously announced venues in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and existing ticket holders for the OG dates can just keep a hold of their tix, which are valid for the new dates.
Meanwhile, punters who can’t attend the new dates can pinch a refund from Ticketek (inSydney, Melbourne and Adelaide) or Ticketmaster (Brisbane).
KISS last performed in Australia in 2015, with Music Feeds reporter Emmy Mack (hey that’s me) describing the band’s Sydney show as “two hours of gratuitous, magnificent, dizzying eye-porn”.
Simmons, meanwhile, reunited with his KISS bandmate Ace Frehley in 2017, to perform together for the first time in 16 years.
Simmons has also recently made (our) headlines after saying that he once bought an AFL team for one day so that he could pay less tax in Australia.
Classic.

UPDATE 04/07/18: Gene Simmons has now changed the Melbourne venue on his upcoming Australian tour. The show will now take place at Festival Hall, and not Margaret Court Arena.
In a statement, organisers say, “Please note that existing ticket holders will require new tickets for Festival Hall. Ticketmaster will contact all existing ticket holders to organise delivery of replacement tickets. If you have not received your tickets by Friday 17 August 2018, please contact Ticketmaster on 136 100 or customer.help@ticketmaster.com.au”
