Melbourne Music Week organisers have announced it will return next month for its 2021 edition, with more than 300 artists appearing across 70 events over 23 locations. MMW will run from Friday, 3rd to Sunday, 12th December, with a handful of events taking place in January and February 2022.
Artists confirmed for the festival include Camp Cope‘s Georgia Maq, Emma Donovan & the Putbacks, Kee’ahn, Daine, Press Club, LUCIANBLOMKAMP, PINCH POINTS, Bananagun, EXEK, Teether and Kuya Neil, Hextape and much more. The program will also feature a live-streamed keynote presentation from electronic composer Holly Herndon.
Tickets for events are on sale from midday today. See the full list of artists performing, festival program and ticketing information here.
“We’re thrilled to be able to deliver Melbourne Music Week again this year and throw our support behind venues, promoters, artists and other live music industry talent,” commented Lord Mayor Sally Capp in a statement.
“Music is the rhythm that Melbourne lives and plays to. We know our local musicians have been counting down the days until they can return to the stage and fill the city with music. Melbourne is famous for its live music scene and we’re working hard to ensure this year’s MMW will be an event to remember.”
MMW’s return comes after a three-month-long extended program last year and early this year for MMW 2020, after its traditional 10-day program was scrapped due to coronavirus restrictions.
