Taylor Swift Announces Release Date For New Album ‘Lover’, New Track Coming Today

UPDATE 14/06/19, 2.20pm: Taylor Swift’s new single ‘You Need to Calm Down’ is out now. Watch the lyric video below.

Taylor Swift has finally given us the details of her seventh studio album. Lover is due out Friday, 23rd of August and will feature already-released collab with Brendon Urie ‘ME’ as well as the forthcoming ‘You Need to Calm Down’ which is expected to drop soon. The accompanying video is set for release Monday, 17th June.

Taylor Swift released ‘ME!’ with Brendon Urie back in April. The release involved an Instagram countdown, a Nashville butterfly mural, and a surprise appearance. This announcement was far more chill with a simple post and story on Instagram.

Taylor’s new track, ‘You Need to Calm Down’ is set to drop at “midnight” — so in just a few hours for Australia.

The new album will be released in four different, deluxe version which will include different audio memos from Taylor Swift’s songwriting sessions and a bunch of exclusive stuff. Head here to pre-order the new album or here to pre-save.

We all know Swift loves to drop a hint for her fans and the most recent pick up is that Drake is likely featuring on Lover — exciting!
