Ghost Have Replaced Their “Asshole” Frontman With His “Younger Brother”

Swedish church of metal, Ghost, are keeping it one-for-one with lead singers and albums. The band has made good on their threats to replace “asshole” frontman Papa Emeritus II, officially filling his unholy sandals with none other than his three-month-younger brother, Papa Emeritus III. And to celebrate, they’re preparing to release their third album.

According to Swedish Rock Magazine (via Blabbermouth), the metal clergy will release the follow-up to to 2013’s Infestissumam in the late Aussie winter or early Aussie spring, which means the release is mere months away!

The disc was reportedly helmed by Klas Åhlund, a prolific songwriter, producer and guitarist from fellow Swedish rock band Teddybears, whose CV surprisingly includes artists such as Katy Perry, Kesha, Taio Cruz, Britney Spears and Madonna.

Son gtitles set to appear on the forthcoming Ghost LP reportedly include From The Pinnacle To The Pit, Cirice, Majesty, Devil Church and He Is, although no new music has been released at this point.

A new Ghost single is slated for release before the band’s June 4th appearance at this year’s Sweden Rock Festival, which will also serve as their live debut with “new” singer Papa Emeritus III.

The ecclesiastical metal outfit first outlined plans to fire their sophomore frontman last year, with one Nameless Ghoul reporting, “Number II is a real asshole so we’re looking for someone with a different approach to things. He still has to be an entertainer, but we’re narrowing down the contenders.”

However, it’s widely believed that the masked Papa Emeritus III is, like, totally the same guy as I and II just with a Roman numeral facelift.

Oh, well. Hail satan!
