Ghost are back, with drama at a classic high.
New single ‘Twenties’ is the latest we’re hearing from the beloved and Grammy winning Swedish group, a week out from the release of their long awaited fifth album, IMPERA.
Following on from previous single ‘Call Me Little Sunshine’, ‘Twenties’ is (as Tobias Forge mentioned in an interview with Metal Hammer) a ‘call to arms’.
The song itself is powerful, theatrical and relentless in its delivery. It sticks out as a contrast to ‘Call Me Little Sunshine’, but keeps the eerily prophetic nature of the wider Ghost project well in check. The riffs, they thunder. The vocals, they penetrate.
‘Twenties’ is quintessential Ghost and for fans hanging out for this IMPERA era, the payoff is going to be worth the wait.
