Girli Announces 2024 Australian Tour

English pop star Girli is all set to go to Australia’s East Coast this April with three shows in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. The tour celebrates her upcoming album, “Matriarchy,” which will be out on May 17. She says this album is her most ‘thoughtful’ and ‘honest’ work yet, exploring themes like being yourself and feeling strong.

Girli is known for her strong presence on stage, mixing fierceness with catchy pop music. Her songs are like anthems for being true to yourself and feeling confident.

Girli Explained The Story Behind Her Upcoming Album ‘Matriarchy’ Via A Press Release

Talking about her new album, Girli explains why she chose the title “Matriarchy.” It represents different parts of her life as a queer woman and becoming confident in herself. “I chose Matriarchy as the album title because that word means so many things to me,” she said.

She further noted, “The matriarchy of being a queer woman in love with another, the matriarchy of being my own queen who governs my life (or queendom), and a commentary on taking back power.”

She concluded her statement by saying, “Now, writing songs is like therapy for me – it’s about processing things I’ve gone through and how they’ve shaped me as a person.”

Joining Girli is on tour with the Brisbane duo Juno (Kahlia Ferguson and Sam Woods.) Their catchy songs like ‘come thru’ and ‘nobody loves you when you’re down’ have caught attention, even on platforms like Triple J Unearthed. They’ve also shared the stage with big names like Peking Duk and Chloe Dadd.
