Glass Animals, the young UK quartet known for their brand of psychedelic indie-pop (with a tinge of trip-hop), have announced their first-ever Australian tour, lining up shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The Oxfordshire-based group are still prepping their as-yet-unname debut album. They’ve been working with acclaimed producer Paul Epworth (Adele, The Big Pink, Friendly Fires) in his London studio, rather than by themselves in their home-built studio (known as ‘The Shed’). The record will also be the inaugural full-length release on Epworth’s new label initiative Wolf Tone.
The band have found creative possibilities through exploring the connections between art, music and science. Frontman and principal songwriter David Bayley has made sure that the band’s modern psychedelic sound plays nicely on top of a sparse soundscape, drawing subtle influences from his past involvement in the worlds of medicine and neuroscience.
Glass Animals’ debut Australian tour will take place over three nights Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Tickets are on sale 9:00am AEDT Tuesday, 11th February. Details below.
