Glass Animals have announced they will appear for two special headline performances in January 2015 while in the country for Falls and Southbound festivals this January. Hot off the heels of their acclaimed debut full-length effort, Zaba, the Oxford group will take the stage at The Hi-Fi in Sydney and Melbourne.
The four-piece are quickly becoming frequent visitors Down Under, having embarked on their debut Australian tour back in April. Music Feeds reviewer Sam Murphy caught the band during their performance at the Oxford Art Factory, praising their ability to keep the crowd “in a wide-eyed gaze”.
In addition to these highly anticipated headline shows, Glass Animals will also be familiarising themselves with Australia’s bustling summer festival circuit. The boys will follow-up performances at Falls Festival with an appearance at Sydney’s Field Day, before heading for Western Australia for Southbound.
The band will be airing tunes from their debut album, which drummer Joe Seaward described to Music Feeds as “a really brilliant snapshot of us as a band at that time”. Inspired by frontman David Bayley’s involvement in the field of neuroscience, the album is a groove-laden and mature debut effort.
