Gorillaz have only announced two shows so far this year but they’ve been added to Japan’s Fuji Rock lineup for 2017.
It’s the first festival headline slot for the Damon Albarn-fronted outside of the UK since the announcement of their forthcoming album Humanz.
In June, they will play their own festival ‘Demon Dayz’ in the UK before heading to Canada for a show. They will then wind up in Japan for Fuji Rock.
Fuji Rock have added a host of new names to the bill alongside Gorillaz including Arca, Death Grips and Gallant.
Aphex Twin, Lorde, LCD Soundsystem and more had already been confirmed previously.
Fuji Rock is often a good indicator of who will play Splendour In The Grass. This year the festivals share a number of artists including LCD, Queens Of The Stone Age and The xx.
Unfortunately, Gorillaz are not one of the acts they share but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t pop over to Australia for a cheeky visit afterwards.
Gorillaz new album Humanz will be released 28th April.
