US indie rockers Grizzly Bear have announced their triumphant return to the Sydney Opera House, with a new Concert Hall show scheduled for March 2018 in celebration of their latest album Painted Ruins.
Returning to the Opera House for the first time since their 2014 debut, Ed Droste and company are set to perform tunes from across their career “against a dramatic, cloud-like backdrop”, according to a statement.
“Grizzly Bear have always gone their own way, restlessly refining their angular, prismatic and glorious sound to possibly their best effect yet on Painted Ruins,” says Sydney Opera House’s Head of Contemporary Music, Ben Marshall.
“Their rigorous, powerful stage shows are the result of careful creative thought and this iteration looks like it will be their best yet.””
Aside from their headline show in Sydney, Grizzly Bear are also scheduled to perform at Melbourne Zoo Twilights, Golden Plains, Adelaide Festival and A Festival Called Panama next year.
