As revealed by Music Feeds earlier this afternoon, the line-up for Australia’s premier regional music festival – Groovin’ The Moo – has leaked a day early.
Organisers confirmed the line-up following the leak, which is led by UK festival favourites The Kooks, American pop/rock veterans They Might Be Giants and Canadian indie stars Tegan and Sara, who were also one of the main drawcards at the event in 2010.
Leading the local contingent are Tame Impala and Flume – fresh from their multiple spots in the triple j Hottest 100 on the weekend – The Temper Trap, and Seth Sentry.
The early announcement has sent most music punters into raptures, with many very impressed with the collection of acts hitting Maitland, Canberra, Bendigo, Townsville and Bunbury in April and May.
Fan ‘Sally’ was a prime example – tweeting: “HOLY SHIT FLUME THE TEMPER TRAP THE KOOKS TAME IMPALA SETH SENTRY ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME @groovinthemoo MAKE WAY HOLY COW.”
‘Captain Angelo’ got just a tad excited, telling the world: “If that actually is the @groovinthemoo line up then I need new underwear.”
Jess Ritchie summed up her thoughts pretty definitively with “@groovinthemoo delivers again! Cannot wait, perfect line up”
, while Melbourne fan ‘Melza’ is clearly planning on having a big one in Bendigo, tweeting “Impressed with @groovinthemoo lineup! The kooks! Tame impala, temper trap, @HungryKids! Bring on those beer bongs @teganparky!”
There were a few not so impressed though. Newcastle’s Taylor Hemmings tweeted: “Tbh the Groovin the moo lineup this year is shit,” and fan Amy-Lee (aka ‘CorpseOfLove’) reckoned the lineup was filled with too many “#ShittyIndieBands”.
Tickets for Groovin’ The Moo 2013 go on sale Tuesday, 5 February (Maitland and Canberra) and Wednesday, 6 February (Bendigo, Townsville and Bunbury). However, if you want to jump the queue, you can get access to a presale from 9am on Thursday morning!
