March has just got even more awesome, with Guns N’ Roses heading our way to play arenas and outdoor shows in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne.
Promoter Andrew McManus posted an image of the tour poster on his personal Facebook page on Monday night, along with the caption “Another Christmas Present Kiddies!”
Axl Rose and his rent-a-band have got some solid supports as well – with fellow legendary American rockers ZZ Top and homegrown veterans The Angels to belt out their classic hits as part of the bill.
The Melbourne date at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl also falls on race day for the 2013 Australian Formula One Grand Prix. McManus held a post-race concert at the same venue this year with Lenny Kravitz, The Cranberries and Wolfmother, so it almost certainly means that this will be the post-race gig next year, if F1 fans want to kick on after watching Mark Webber and co. zoom around Albert Park.
Ticket prices and on-sale dates are yet to be announced, but with the poster image spreading around the net like wildfire, surely it can’t be too far off.
UPDATE: 10/01/13
The Angels will no longer be part of the Guns N Roses Australian tour due to frontman Doc Neeson being hospitalised with a brain tumour.
