Empire of the Sun’s Luke Steele and Jarrad Rogers (Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey) have joined forces on H3000. Now, they’ve shared their second single ever, ‘Running’ and have announced their debut album.
The single is full of textured beats, dreamy vocals, and these super fun, electric drops.
‘Running’ is Luke Steele’s reflection on the loss of a friend.
“Words are very powerful; they hold poison or peace, hope or heartbreak,” says Steele.
“The song ‘Running’ talks about taming the tongue and understanding the strength it has.”
“‘Running’ is one of the most personal songs on the record,” says Jarrad Rogers. “‘Running’ is special to me because it was one of the first records Luke and I collaborated on.”
“I still remember getting a rough vocal through from Luke, pressing play, and by the time I’d heard the chorus, I was in such awe that I’d thrown my phone to the other side of the room.”
It comes with an out-of-this-world, futuristic visual too. Catch it down below.
Alongside the single release is the duo’s announcement of their debut album. Also titled H3000, the seven-track release is promising to be full of songs of love, loss, and camaraderie.
