Have Disturbed Started Work On A Hiatus-Breaking New Album?

Can you feel that? Ah, shit! Rumblings from the Disturbed camp suggest that the band has started work on the follow-up to their 2010 album, Asylum.

While there’s been no official confirmation from the band themselves, the gossips over at Blabbermouth are reporting rumours that Dave Draiman and co have entered a Las Vegas recording studio with hotshot hard rock producer Kevin Churko (Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Hellyeah) to begin work on some hiatus-breaking new Disturbed material.

The politically charged hard rock act have failed to offer any updates about possible recording or touring activity since announcing their sabbatical, back in 2011. However, Draiman did make a statement on the band’s official Facebook page two years ago, to confirm that the break was only temporary.

Since then, the frontman has been involved in a range of other endeavours, from launching a side-project with Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo called Device, to working with Megadeth on their most recent album, Super Collider.

But Disturbed Ones will no doubt be hoping the frontman is ready to refocus his efforts on the band that made his career. If rumours of the new album are true, he’ll be looking at more than just 10,000 fists in the air.
