Wine brand Headline Acts has teamed up with the Muso.Live app to launch the industry rewards program, Headline Access.
Headline Acts is a new brand of wine that’s the official wine partner of this year’s Splendour in the Grass. They’re pumping a whole lot of money into Headline Access in an effort to nurture the careers of independent Australian artists.
Phase one of Headline Access is The Release Cycle, which will locate one deserving independent artist on Muso and set them up to record, release and distribute a single. The winner will also receive expert mentoring and industry advice. To be in with a shot, artists need to sign up to Muso by Sunday, 26th June.
The Release Cycle will put the winning artist in touch with Johann Ponniah, founder of independent label I OH YOU Records; Johnny Took, guitarist, songwriter and producer with DMA’S; and music journalist and publicist Sosefina Fuamoli.
The winning artist will go into the studio with Took to record a single. Ponniah will then meet with them to provide detailed insight on how to rise up in the music industry. “I’m really excited to be involved with Headline Access,” said Ponniah. “To me it feels like a unique opportunity to instigate real progress for an artist and I’m looking forward to sussing out all the new music.”
Fuamoli and marketing agency Thinking Loud will spend time workshopping the winning artist’s publicity strategy. The Release Cycle will also fund the distribution of the single.
The Release Cycle is just the beginning for Headline Access. Future programs will focus not just on artists, but also include giveaways for local music fans. Find out more here.
