King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard‘s aptly named festival creation Gizzfest seems to be in a state of external expansion, with a whole bunch of psych-tastic acts just added to the event’s Brisbane and Sydney shows.
Already featuring big acts like Pond, The Murlocs, Mild High Club, Stonefield, Dinner and Boulevards, the Gizzies just can’t help but carry on trawling the garage rock scene for its weirdest and wildest to add to the bill.
New additions for the Brisbane show include Canadian act The Babe Rainbow, who feature a totally babin’ multi-tasking drumming lead vocalist; King Gizzard frontman himself, Stu Mackenzie; Brisbane-based Jordan Rochfort; Michael Meddlecott and Gooby Jim. These five acts will be performing across the two just-added new micro-stages at the Brisbane event.
As for Sydney, the city’s Gizzfest lineup has now also scored sets from Mackenzie, The Dandelion and Body Type, so dust off your jangliest necklace and skinny jeans — this is gonna be one hell of a day-trip.
