Bring Me The Horizon have embraced a brand new electro-pop sound on their fresh single ‘medicine’, which marks the third cut of their imminently dropping album Amo.
“So I’m sorry for this / it might sting a bit” frontman Oli Sykes sings in the tune, which might as well be a statement addressed to the metalcore purists who got mega pissed when the band’s 2015 LP That’s The Spirit sounded nothing like Suicide Season.
‘Medicine’ strays even further afield from BMTH’s OG sound, marking their first full-blown foray into the pop sphere. In fact if it wasn’t for the guitars in the chorus, you’d be forgiven at first listen for mistaking this for a Chainsmokers song.
When you take this fresh bop alongside previous riffier Amo. offerings ‘Mantra’ and the Dani Filth-featuring ‘Wonderful Life’, Bring Me’s sixth LP is certainly shaping up to be an interesting one!
ICYMI: the disc also features a collab with Grimes, and is now due to land on Friday, 25th January 2019 (after the band shifted the release date back by two weeks).
‘Medicine’ also comes packing some powerful artsy visuals. Give them a watch below, and catch BMTH live when they return to Australia in April of 2019 for a headline tour across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
