Hear Johnny Depp And Alice Cooper Team Up For A Cover Of The Who’s ‘My Generation’

The all-star Hollywood Vampires project has been seemingly teased forever but now we finally have the first official single from the outfit, featuring Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.

The track, which acts as the album’s first single, is a cover of The Who’s My Generation and features Bruce Witkin on bass and Ringo Starr’s son Zach Starkey on drums. Starkey currently tours with The Who, so his inclusion makes total sense.

There’s understandably some scepticism around the project due to the fact it’s bringing together huge names like Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney and Slash and putting them on a record of iconic rock covers, but My Generation is actually pretty good. It stays true to the original, only ramping up the aggressive guitars a little bit.

The album, due out 11th September, will also feature covers of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love, The Doors’ Break On Through and Pink Floyd’s Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2). It will feature two original tracks Raise The Dead and Dead Drunk Friends.

The project was named after Cooper’s old drinking club which included Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson and Keith Moon.
