Hear Mandy Moore’s First New Song In 10 Years

Mandy Moore is back on the music scene for the first time in 10 years, releasing an original song titled ‘When I Wasn’t Watching’.

The musician and actress released her last studio album Amanda Lee in 2009, although as Pitchfork points out she did cover Little Feat’s ‘Willin’ two years ago for the soundtrack to This Is Us.

The delay between releases for Moore is, at least in part, related to the end of her relationship with now ex-husband and musician Ryan Adams.

Back in 2012, Moore said she’d been songwriting with Adams, but they divorced in 2016.

Moore was among a number of women including singer Phoebe Bridgers and an underage fan included in a report outlining allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse against Adams earlier this year.

The New York Times report included accusations from a total of seven women range from emotional and psychological abuse to sexual misconduct, with the Times alleging “a pattern of manipulative behaviour in which Adams dangled career opportunities while simultaneously pursuing female artists for sex”.

In the report Moore alleged that Adams refused to her ler work with other industry figures, effectively forcing her to put her career on ice.
