The winners of the 2023 J Awards were announced this morning (13th November) during Breakfast with Bryce & Concetta on triple j. G Flip won Australian Album of the Year for their second LP, DRUMMER. Other nominees in the category included Angie McMahon’s Light, Dark, Light Again and Polaris‘ Fatalism.
Miss Kaninna was named Unearthed Artist of the Year. The Yorta Yorta, Djadja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali woman has released two singles in 2023; ‘Blak Britney’ in May and ‘Pinnacle Bitch’ in October. Briggs won Double J Artist of the Year, finishing ahead of Jen Cloher, Kylie Minogue, Bad//Dreems and RVG. See all the winners below.
