Be still your quivering heart Guns N’ Roses, the gunners having just announced the first support acts for their upcoming reunion tour across North America, with Alice In Chains and Lenny Kravitz splitting the duty between them.
Coming off the back of their reunion a Coachella earlier this year, the appropriately named Not In This Lifetime Tour will feature Alice In Chains as support in Detroit, Washington DC, Kansas City and Chicago, while Kravitz will open the Foxboro and East Rutherford shows.
“I don’t normally do gigs like this,” Kravitz told Rolling Stone. “But sometimes you’ve got to do things for the fun of it, for the experience. I’m looking forward to playing with them and celebrating them coming back together,” added the Fly Away singer.
“We’re definitely going to jam and improvise and get loose, and treat it like a festival,” he said when asked about how he might alter his set to appeal to gunners fans, adding that “summertime always makes me think of festivals like the Isle of Wight, when Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix played.”
“I love the summer, outdoor concert vibe, so we’ll rock out and improvise and go deep and get psychedelic and out there.”
Running from Thursday 23rd June to Monday 22nd August across North America, overseas dates outside have yet to be announced.
In the meantime check them out playing Paradise City at Coachella to tide you over ’til we get some Aussie dates and supports announced.
