Artists from across the country flocked to the Staples Centre in Los Angeles today for music’s night of nights – the 2020 GRAMMY Awards. And, as you can expect, there were some colossal wins.
The biggest winner was, perhaps unsurprisingly, Billie Eilish. After becoming the youngest artist and first ever solo female artist to top the Hottest 100 this weekend, Eilish did the unthinkable and became the youngest artist to ever sweep the four major GRAMMY categories: ‘Best New Artist’, ‘Song Of The Year’ & ‘Record Of The Year’ for ‘bad guy’, and ‘Album Of the Year’ for ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’.
She wasn’t the only winner, of course. Lizzo picked up three awards for ‘Best Pop Vocal Performance’, ‘Best Traditional R&B Performance’ and ‘Best Urban Contemporary Album’. Lil Nas X also walked home with two awards for ‘Best Music Video’ and ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ – both for ‘Old Town Road’.
A few posthumous awards were given out, with Chris Cornell winning for ‘Best Album Packaging’ and Nipsey Hussle for ‘Best Rap Performance’ and ‘Best Rap/Sung Performance’.
