Here’s The Music Lineup For Perth Festival 2020

Perth Festival is set to return to WA for another year, and it’s bringing with it one of the most impressive music lineups yet.

This year the festival’s theme is ‘Karla’ – a Noongar term meaning ‘fire’ and, by extension, ‘home’ and ‘country’.

There’s a whole stack of artists gracing the festival with their presence. Paul Kelly will be bringing his ‘Thirteen Ways to Look at Birds’ show to the festival with the help of composer James Ledger, Alice Keath and Seraphim Trio.

On top of that, Briggs, Weyes Blood, Aldous Harding, Kate Tempest, Ngaiire, Yeasayer and even the iconic Mavis Staples will also be taking to the festival as part of its contemporary international music program.

Meow Meow is also curating a massive cabaret party, Kabarett Haus, and she’s showcasing some huge names – such as Rufus Wainwright and Amanda Palmer.

There will also be celebrations of some of the country’s most legendary artists. Buŋgul, a celebration of the culture that inspired the great Gurrumul’s final album Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow), will be showcased at the festival.

On top of that, there is a massive celebration of Bon Scott, called Highway To Hell, that will see the festival take over 10km of the Canning Highway in order to honour the musician’s connection to Perth and the 40th anniversary of him being laid to rest at Fremantle Cemetery.

Perth Festival 2020 will take place from Friday, 7th February to Sunday, 1st March.
