Well Then, Here’s The Offspring Covering ‘Here Kitty Kitty’ As Made Famous By ‘Tiger King’

It’s 2020, baby! Veteran alt-rock bands are covering songs from chaotic documentaries about exotic animal traders! That’s just the world we’re living in now.

To wit, The Offspring are dealing with quarantine well, it would seem. The band’s Dexter Holland, Noodles and an unidentified drummer in a tiger costume (likely the band’s Pete Parada) have linked up to record a cover of ‘Here Kitty Kitty’.

That’s a song you may be familiar with through Tiger King‘s Joe Exotic, but the band are quick to point out that it was in fact written by The Clinton Johnson Band, who were responsible for many of the songs Exotic claimed to have composed (more on that here.)

“Hey, Guys! Like many of you, we are going a little stir crazy these days and we wanted to do something fun to put a smile on our faces, and hopefully on some of yours too,” commented the band.

“This song, ‘Here Kitty Kitty,’ was originally by the Clinton Johnson band, and *not* by anyone in that recent documentary we all got caught up in.”

“The Offspring wives were group texting recently, and while they all agreed that they truly love their husbands, there are times when they’ve absolutely felt like feeding us to the tigers. In that spirit, we hope you enjoy this random song & video.”
