Here’s When The Full Soundwave 2016 Lineup Is Being Announced

UPDATE 17/12/15 5.50pm: Soundwave 2016 has been officially cancelled.

UPDATE 02/10/15: The Soundwave announcement date has now been moved to Thursday, 15th October.

After almost seven weeks spent drip-feeding its 2016 roster, here’s the day we’ve all been hanging out for. Music Feeds has learned that Soundwave Festival will be making its first full 2016 lineup announcement next week, on Thursday, 8th October.

So far nine bands have been locked in for the 2016 event, including heavy supergroup Devil You Know, British rock giants Bring Me The Horizon, Sydney metal champs Northlane, Swedish hardcore act Refused, Los Angeles alt-rockers Failure, Brisbane rockers Dead Letter Circus, Welsh metal outfit Bullet For My Valentine, 2006 Eurovision winners Lordi and rising English rockers Moose Blood.

AJ Maddah recently said he was waiting to confirm the plans of two potential acts before making the festival’s full lineup announcement. He even revealed the identity of one of the two bands.

Maddah has previously said the full first lineup announcement will consist of 22 acts, would be heavier than usual and will be “all about better bands and longer sets”.

Soundwave 2016 is scheduled to kick off in Brisbane on 23rd January, before making its way to Sydney on Sunday, 24th January and Melbourne on Tuesday, 26th January. Stay tuned to Music Feeds to catch the festival’s full first lineup announcement as soon as it drops.
