Hockey Dad Forced To Evacuate Mid-Show In Brisbane Due To COVID Restrictions

Hockey Dad have just been forced to end their Brisbane show tonight early due to COVID restrictions put in place following the stay-at-home orders put in place for parts of New South Wales.

The Windang duo were playing their first of three shows at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall this evening when, in between their main set and their encore, they were told they had to leave due to new COVID restrictions put in place by Queensland in response to the Sydney outbreak.

The band took to Instagram, describing the event as “the heaviest thing (they) have ever experienced”.

Due to new COVID restrictions from QLD health, the next two shows can’t go ahead,” the band wrote, referring to one show they had planned later tonight, as well as one tomorrow night.

“We had just finished our set and were about to walk back on stage for an encore. We were then told we had to leave the venue immediately and isolate. We are absolutely gutted and are lost for words.”

“Our team are working on a solution to fix all of this,” the band assured, “will be back with more updates as they come.”

Hockey Dad have been forced to isolate due to the restrictions put in place in New South Wales, where residents of the Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Shellharbour, Central Coast and Blue Mountains areas have to stay at home – besides essential reasons – until at least Friday, 9th July.

In addition, anyone that has been in those areas since Monday, 21st June have to follow stay-at-home orders for 14 days after they were there.

Hockey Dad’s next show is in Mackay on Thursday, 12th August as they kick off their regional tour later this year.
