Well we officially need to to de-louse our pants in the comatorium because Cedric Bixler-Zavala just confirmed that The Mars Volta reunion is a bloody GOER.
The muso has been dropping cryptic breadcrumbs of info on Twitter hinting at a potential comeback but today he served up a full blown bombshell; responding to a fan who wrote “I dream with you guys giving TMV a new chapter,” Bixler-Zavala replied: “It’s happening.”
IT’S HAPPENING.
AND, it seems, new music is also on the way!
Responding to another fan who asked if Volta would ever consider doing a De-Loused In The Comatorium tour, CBZ responded: “We are in the kitchen finding new ways to through curve balls”.
…Which was after he previously revealed that he’d entered the studio with Mars Volta bandmate Omar Rodríguez-López, AKA “Puerto Rican Bernie Sanders”:

The last time we heard new Mars Volta music was back in 2012 when they released their last album, Noctourniquet. They then broke up the next year after Bixler-Zavala and Rodríguez-López had a falling out.
But that all seems to be water under the bridge now (especially considering they’ve teamed up plenty of times since with Antemasque and At-the Drive-In).
Now all we need is an Australian tour and we’ll be SET.
Splendour In The Grass 2020 anyone?
