Continuing to kick goals, Brisbane’s kings of cuddle rock Hungry Kids of Hungary have just been announced as a triple j Next Crop artist for 2009. Each year the nation’s number one broadcaster announces their predictions for the next wave of Aussie talent and, amongst the esteemed company of the likes of The Middle East, Kid Sam, Washington, Boy & Bear and fellow Brisbanites DZ and Georgia Potter, the Hungry Kids will be featured for a day on the radio nationwide.
Their new single ‘Let You Down’ has been selected as the feature track to close triple j’s Ausmusic Month on Monday, November 30. The track has been garnering attention all over since its release three weeks ago, having snared a live stream on the New York Post website as well as scoring a spot in the esteemed Record Of The Day (UK).
Their first ever headline tour starts in little over a week, kicking off in their own neck of the woods in Queensland before moving to Sydney and Melbourne to encompass 11 dates in total around the country.
Melody makers DEEP SEA ARCADE and HKoH favourite BALL PARK MUSIC provide support for several dates, plus a host of super friends join in the fun for their respective local territories.
