It looks like Aussie rock legends Hunters & Collectors have made their thoughts known on the currently-embattled radio broadcaster Steve Price, allegedly requesting the shock jock remove one of the band’s songs which was being used as introduction music on Price’s 2GB radio program.
As Fairfax Media reports, Macquarie Media’s chief operating officer Adam Lang explains that while the band didn’t give a specific reason, they requested that the program’s long-running intro no contain their 1992 hit Holy Grail.
“They acknowledged they didn’t have the right to, but asked would [Steve] remove the song from the show. He was not forced to do that. Steve really likes the band and he respected their wishes,” Lang says.
According to Lang, 2GB had all the correct legal paperwork to publicly communicate the track, meaning this wasn’t an issue of remuneration for the band.

Price has been proving his mettle as a figure of controversy lately after some poorly received comments during a recent episode of Q&A, where he referred to columnist Van Badham as “hysterical”, then some further poorly received comments on The Project where he suggested that he had been “ambushed” on the Q&A panel.
