Adele has returned over the weekend with her hotly-anticipated first new single in six years titled ‘Easy On Me’, and you better have those tissues on standby, because it’s an absolute heartbreaker.
The new single is set to feature on her upcoming fourth record 30, which was announced last week via her social media.
A lot about the track feels quite familiar, particularly looking back to her 21 era, but her blistering delivery on ‘Easy On Me’ proves that we’re in for a new era like no other. We already know that the album is largely going to centre on her divorce, and the new single slams us into that world headfirst.
The track has also come to us accompanied by a clip, directed by Xavier Dolan, who also directed the video for ‘Hello’.
Released on Saturday, 16th October, ‘Easy On Me’ has broken the record for the most number of streams in a single day on Spotify.
