ICYMI: The Offspring Have Confirmed Their First Album In 10 Years Is Coming “Soon”

Pretty fly news, Offspring fans! After a long-ass wait, the punk rockin’ legends reckon their new album will finally hit our eardrums later this year!!

It’s been a long time between LPs — ten years to be exact — and there’ve been more than a few false starts during that time. But the long wait is almost over, with the Original Pranksters finally confirming the follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By is ready to rock and/or roll.

“We’re putting out a record. It’s finished, it’s done, it’s in the can as they say,” frontman Dexter and guitar man Noodles revealed on social media via an audio clip, which sees them break the good news while taking the full piss out of themselves.

“We’ve got songs, we’ve got titles, we’ve got a label, we’ve got an album title, we’ve got a cover, we’ve got artwork and stuff. It’s ready to go. We’re putting this out,” the pair confirmed.

Listen below!

Speaking about the new record back in March of 2019, Dexter told Kerrang! it sounds like our old shit!”

“That’s what I’m supposed to say, right?!” he joked. I don’t really know how to describe it. I guess it’s punk rock, but then we throw in a couple of songs that aren’t what you’d normally predict. We have a lot of really fast stuff on there, plus a couple of things that you might not really expect from us. But I’m really really happy with it.”

Meanwhile, we still have the band’s sold-out Australian arena tour with Sum 41 to look forward to, which has been postponed until international touring becomes a thing again.

Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait too much longer!
