Idris Elba shared that he’s tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) overnight. The English actor, musician, and DJ explained via Twitter that he’s been in isolation since he found out he’d been exposed to the virus.
He shared a video on twitter alongside a caption that read, “This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing No panic.”
Idris Elba stresses the importance of being vigilant about coronavirus. “Look, this is serious. Now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands,” he says.
“Beyond that, there are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms and that can easily spread it. So now is the real time to be really vigilant about washing your hands and keeping your distance.”
“You know, transparency is probably the best thing for this right now,” Elba continues.
“If you’re feeling ill and you feel like you should be tested or you’ve been exposed, you should do something about it.”
“Now is the time for solidarity, now is the time to think about each other. There are so many people whose lives have been affected, from those who have lost people that they loved to people who don’t even have it but have lost their livelihoods.”
