After announcing her North American The Great Escape Tour earlier this week, Iggy Azalea has told her Australian fans a previously announced one-off Melbourne show may not happen, and that she is unlikely to tour her home country until “closer to Aug 2015”. The Mullumbimby-born rapper’s US tour will take place between April and May, with no other dates locked in for now.
On Sunday, Iggy replied to an Australian fan on Twitter, who had asked if her The Great Escape Tour would include the Melbourne show, which Iggy previously tweeted was going to occur in February.
“That show wouldn’t be part of a tour,” the Fancy rapper told the inquisitive fan. “As of right now the company who wanted book it is in some tax troubles, I may not come.” Iggy did not clarify which company is currently “in some tax troubles”. Later, she tweeted at the same fan, and brightened their day substantially.
“I have a feeling I won’t be seeing the Aussie Azaleans until closer to Aug 2015,” Iggy said, later telling another fan that The Great Escape Tour is “not a world wide tour”. View the series of tweets below.
Since beating out Drake and Eminem at the American Music Awards last month, Iggy Azalea has scored four Grammy nominations, and has been named one of the most-watched musicians on YouTube.
