Presented by MusicNSW, the Indent Open Day returns again this year, offering an introduction to young people who want to be part of the music industry. Set to be held once again at Bondi Beach in the High Tide Room of The Bondi Pavilion on March 9, this year’s event will focus on accessibility and helping people who are interested in engaging with the music industry learn the skills to help get a foot in the door of this fiercely competitive industry.
The open panel will cover a range of different roles within the industry, exploring some innovative new ideas for how to best work in this fast-changing field, the panel including Brooke Olsen (AMRAP), Jason Nonnis (Young Blood) and Ben Neilson (Collateral Management). There will also be a range of workshops on offer. Danny Yau (AIM/Yau Am I Marketing) will be leading DIY Digital, a workshop, which will centre on exploring the readily available tools and techniques that you can use to make yourself stand out online. Claire Collins (Bossy Music – Gotye, Lana Del Rey, Laneway Festival) will be taking attendees through the essentials of publicity, Ben Goodhew (FBi Radio) will discuss how to pitch to radio and the role of community stations, and there will also be a MusicNSW/Indent masterclass on how to write the perfect funding application.
A free event, RSVP is essential, however, as there are limited places available, with special attention to be paid to young people aged between 12 – 15.
