California rock outfit Smash Mouth, perhaps best known for having that song All Star appear on the original Shrek soundtrack, have angered the internet with an, um, interesting cover of Queen and David Bowie‘s Under Pressure, which they’ve recorded in honour of Bowie’s passing earlier this week.
The fact that Under Pressure is really a Queen song with David Bowie on it didn’t stop Smash Mouth from having a go at their own version, which, unfortunately, is pretty horrible.
The cover (below) stays pretty true to the original, but Smash Mouth tackling a Queen song was never going to turn out well, and the internet has been letting the band have it. Here are some of our favourite reactions to the track:

While Smash Mouth’s cover is likely to make most Bowie fans wish the band would actually go Walkin’ On The Sun, it’s also clear that the group probably aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.
