Australians woke up to news yesterday that the US Capitol was being stormed by QAnon and Trump supporters. As insane images came out of the rioters, loads of people noted one man in his headgear resembled Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay.
Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay was swift to jump on Twitter and confirm that he is not the horned man.
“Good morning world. Now, some of you may be thinking you saw me in Washington last night, but I’m afraid I wasn’t with all those freaks,” he begins saying in a US Southern accent.
“Umm, just to say, yeah. Happy New Year, haven’t seen you for ages,” he jokes awkwardly.
Kay goes on to discuss UK lockdown and thanks fans for their birthday wishes.
Then he says, “And just to say, COVID-19 still going on. UK lockdown. However, the way we treat our animals: farming them, caging them, all the rest of it. We’re just going to keep this again and again. So, hopefully we’ll try and learn our lesson.”

The Trump supporter has since been identified to be Jake Angeli. He’s a 32-year-old QAnon conspiracy theorist and The Arizona Republic reports that the fur bonnet, face paint, and lack of shirt is a tactic to attract attention.
He told the publication it’s how he spreads his beliefs with others.
Jamiroquai’s last full-length release was 2017’s Automation.
