Janet Jackson has cancelled her Sydney show, citing a need for ‘vocal rest’, just one hour before she was due to play at the Opera House tonight. Fans were shocked to hear the news after already arriving at the venue and in the process of being seated.
Jackson flew home 2 weeks ago to be with her family during the Conrad Murray manslaughter trial involving her brother Michael Jackson. She was forced to cancel her 3 Melbourne shows but flew back to play one show on Thursday at the Rod Laver Arena. A number were disappointed at the move to the larger venue after the tour was dubbed the ‘Up Close And Personal’ tour, however tickets were refunded to unhappy punters.
All tickets to the 2nd Sydney Opera House show will be refunded and the third Sydney show, scheduled for Tuesday November 8th, is still expected to go ahead.

It is with regret that Dainty Group announces that tonight’s Janet Jackson Number Ones: Up Close and Personal concert, at the Sydney Opera House, cannot proceed.
Doctors have ordered Miss Jackson to undertake vocal rest for the next 2 days, so she can complete the 3rd and final show of her Australian tour, this Tuesday night at the Sydney Opera House.
Unfortunately, there will not be a replacement concert scheduled, so all patrons will receive a full refund at the Sydney Opera House Box office tonight or from the point of purchase.
