Janet Jackson has posted an emotional video to Twitter, thanking fans, particularly for making her 1986 single ‘Control’ hit #1 again.
“I’m so thankful for all of you being in my life. You’re so special to me,” says Jackson.
“And I want to thank all of you for making ‘Control’ #1 once again, after 35 years.”
“Never in a million years, I would never think that this would happen. I really appreciate you and I love you so, so much. Thank you,” she said to fans.

Of course, the attention has come after Justin Timberlake issued a public apology to both Janet Jackson and Britney Spears.
His apology came after a fair whack of pressure from fans and the public.
The new documentary, Framing Britney Spears saw Timberlake in hot water. Old footage showed him discussing having sex with Britney and publicly implying she’d cheated on him, which Variety reports was further perpetuated through the ‘Cry Me A River’ music video.
The criticism saw fans look back to Timberlake’s performance with Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show. At the end of the performance, Timberlake pulled on Jackson’s top, revealing part of her breast briefly.
The incident caused serious outrage and had serious repercussions for Jackson, including being uninvited from the Grammy Awards, where she was slated to perform.
Timberlake still attended and performed, which fans are have cited as an example of his privilege in the situation.
“I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed,” Timberlake wrote in a statement.
“The industry is flawed. It sets men, especially white men, up for success. It’s designed this way. As a man in a privileged position, I have to be vocal about this.
“Because of my ignorance, I didn’t recognize it for all that it was while it was happening in my own life but I do not want to ever benefit from others being pulled down again.”
