Fire up those driving wheels because the Barnesy content we both need and deserve is hitting streaming services next month.
As The Music reports, Jimmy Barnes‘ critically-acclaimed documentary Working Class Boy, based on the Aussie music legend’s best-selling 2016 memoir, will be available to watch from the comfort of your own couch from April 24.
The 2018 film from Universal Pictures delivers an honest look at the past on one of Australia’s most legendary and iconic artists, from his traumatic, domestic violence-filled childhood, to his struggles with poverty and alcoholism, to his evolution from James Dixon Swan to THE Jimmy Barnes.
The film also features some killer musical performances, including Barnesy performing both his own songs and a few Cold Chisel numbers. His kids, Mahalia Barnes and David Campbell, and his brother-in-law Diesel will also feature.
FYI Barnesy’s original memoir is one of the most successful biographies in Australia’s history. It spent 16 weeks at #1, and won the 2017 ABIA Award for ‘Biography of the Year’. Not to mention, it has sold over 250,000 copies.
