Joey Jordison Says He’s Sitting On “A Ton” Of Unreleased Slipknot Demos

Former Slipknot drummer and current Sinsaenum member Joey Jordison is apparently sitting on a treasure trove of unreleased Slipknot demos. Just don’t get too excited for a series of new Jordison-brand Slipknot-esque tracks.

Speaking in a new interview with Metal Hammer, Jordison confessed, “I have a ton of Slipknot demos that I have at home,” but remained vague about what he intends to do with the tracks.

“Maybe some day they’ll surface, maybe they’ll never be heard, but I don’t translate them to any other band,” he said, shutting down any suspicion that Jordison might repurpose the demos to suit one of his more recent projects like Sinsaenum, which is currently touring Australia.

Jordison also explained in the interview that old habits die hard when it comes to writing music.

“I play guitar all the time and I’m constantly thinking of songs. I sleep music. I wake up and there’s a riff in my head, every step I take there’s a riff, a beat, or something,” he said.

“That’s the way a musician is. You’re isolated in a weird way because music is haunting you as much as it’s loving you. It’s non-stop.

“Every time I pick up a guitar, I come up with different riffs, all different bands I’ve been in, sometimes there is a song or riff that could only belong with Slipknot and I just can’t use it for anything else, regardless of whatever happened. It just stays in the bank and I can’t use it for anything else, I just won’t do it.”

Slipknot are currently working on their own demos for a brand new album slated for next year. The band recently seized the day on Halloween by releasing their first new song in four years, ‘All Out Life’.
