John Butler has announced plans to go head-to-head with big mining in an effort to raise awareness of, and hopefully prevent, onshore gas mining known as ‘fracking’, which could see his home state of Western Australia essentially gutted.
Frack Off! will be going down on the Margaret River come Saturday, 26th November, and will see John Butler Trio joined by a small army of likeminded artists including The Pigram Brothers, Mama Kin and Ten Cent Shooters. The event will be MC’d by fellow WA resident and comedian/actor Peter Rowsthorn.
Ticket prices have been kept remarkably cheap for such an event, coming in at just $20 for adults and $10 for kids. This way, purchasing power will not dictate someones ability to become informed on the issue at hand.
Says John Butler on the matter:
“The ticket price is really cheap because we want as many people as possible to come along and get informed about what the gas industry has planned for our region and our state. We want the community to be empowered by knowing that we have a voice in this, and that there is something we can do about it. We can tell the gas industry to Frack Off! We can run these pirates out
of town.”
Once the concert is paid off, the profits from tickets will go to furthering the fight against onshore gas mining in WA. Frack Off! will be supported by Lock The Gate, Gasfield Free Southwest WA, Frack Free Future and The Wilderness Society.

UPDATE: 29/09/16The show has officially sold out! A new event has been announced for the following day, Sunday, 27th November going down at the same location. Ticket prices will be the same and ticket holders will be treated to the same brilliant line up.
