Americana singer-songwriters John Craigie, of Portland, Oregon, and Cat Clyde, of Stratford, Ontario, are teaming up for a run of shows around Australia in March 2024. Both acts are on the lineup for next year’s Port Fairy Folk Festival, which is happening on Victoria’s southwestern coast from Friday, 8th to Monday, 11th March.
Craigie and Clyde will play three shows in Melbourne following the festival. They’ll then travel to Sydney, Wollongong, the Northern Rivers, Brisbane and Adelaide. They’re also on the lineup for the Blue Mountains Music Festival, a folk and roots music event in Katoomba, happening from Friday, 15th to Sunday, 17th March. Find all the details below.
Cat Clyde: Down Rounder
It’ll be the first time in Australia for both artists. John Craigie is heading over nearly 15 years after the release of his solo debut, 2009’s Montana Tale. Craigie’s most recent effort is the 2022 album Mermaid Salt.
Cat Clyde has released a trio of solo albums over the last half-dozen years, including her latest, 2023’s Down Rounder. It was the official follow-up to 2019’s Hunters Trace, though in the interim Clyde produced an acoustic album, Good Bones, and linked up with fellow Canadian fokie Jeremie Albino for 2021’s Blue Blue Blue.
