Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi is to compose the score to director Cameron Crowe’s new movie, We Bought A Zoo.
The film, which stars Scarlett Johansson, Matt Damon, Thomas Haden Church, and Elle Fanning, is out in the US on December 23. It is based on the book by Benjamin Mee.
As The Playlist points out, Crowe has worked with Jónsi before, having used Sigur Rós music for his 2001 film Vanilla Sky. Crowe is also quoted as saying about the making of We Bought A Zoo, “It was a music-filled experience. Matt Damon loves Sigur Rós. We played some of the music on his first day on set, and he said, ‘Keep it coming man, keep it coming.'”
