Jordie Lane Announces Tour Supports

Melbourne-based troubadour Jordie Lane will be joined a by a host of talented artists on his ‘Sunday Bleu’ tour this November and December.

Jordie Lane will play his last headline tour of the year, performing on Sunday 22 November (afternoon show) at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne supported by Downhills Home and Fireside Bellows; and Sunday 29 November at the Troubadour in Brisbane, supported by Fergus Brown and Scott Spark.

Jordie will end the tour with a special ‘lane’ gig in Sydney on Sunday 13 December at The Vanguard in Sydney, supported by Shady Lane and Lanie Lane. Tickets for all shows are on sale now – visit www.myspace.com/jordielanemusic for ticketing information.

After releasing his highly acclaimed debut album Sleeping Patterns in June, Jordie has gone on to sell out album launches across the country, perform with Clare Bowditch in London, and has recently completed an Australian tour with rock legend Tex Perkins.

Lauded as one of the most remarkable debut releases from a local musician, Sleeping Patterns was co-produced by Jeff Lang and Tim Hall and had been brewing in the subconscious of Jordie’s mind for four years. Recorded in little more than five days, the album features storytelling at its rawest, gutsiest, and most fragile.

Following the release of Sleeping Patterns in Australia, where it was Album of the Week on 3RRR, Radio Adelaide, ABC 702’s ‘Mornings’ and ABC Radio National’s ‘The Daily Planet’, Jordie hightailed to Europe where he became stranded in Paris with only two pounds to his name, lost his mind in Amsterdam, and ate nothing but kebabs in Germany. In between such dilemmas Jordie managed to fit in performances in Berlin, Paris, and Germany, as well as a full-house gig at Hoxton Bar in London with Clare Bowditch.

Upon his return to Australia Jordie immediately jumped straight into a national tour with Tex Perkins and has also been announced to perform at the 2009 Falls Festival in Lorne. He is also appearing on ABC’s ‘Spicks and Specks’ next Wednesday 28 October.
