Aussie singer-songwriter Josh Pyke has announced a packed national tour for January and February 2016, which will see him make his way around the country in support of his fifth and latest studio album, But For All These Shrinking Hearts.
Pyke’s upcoming national tour will begin with a Sydney performance as part of the Twilight At Taronga series of concerts, before making its way through Canberra, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Lismore, Geelong, Adelaide and Perth. The tour also includes a show at Melbourne Zoo as part of its Twilights program.
Pyke completed a run of intimate shows earlier this year, but is now set to bring both his newer and older tunes to larger venues around the country.
“I’m extremely excited to share this tour news with you,” Pyke says. “It’s been ages since I’ve done a full band tour, but it’s all happening next year, and I’ve tried to make as many shows ‘All Ages’ as possible.”
Supporting Pyke on most of his But For All These Shrinking Hearts album tour will be Brisbane indie-pop singer-songwriter Benjamin Forbes, aka Banff. Forbes won’t be supporting in Melbourne or Sydney, however, with both of those dates supported by Central Coast duo Winterbourne.
But For All These Shrinking Hearts was released in July this year, with Music Feeds reviewer Elisa Parry saying the album “has everything you’d want from a Josh Pyke album — intricate melodies, exquisite harmonies and choruses that will worm their way into your head after just one listen”.
