Juice WRLD Has Died, Aged 21

Juice WRLD has been confirmed dead at the age of 21.

As The New York Times reports, the rapper’s death has been confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Illinois.

Juice WRLD – real name Jarad Anthony Higgins – reportedly suffered a seizure at Midway Airport in Chicago earlier today after his plane landed. He was rushed to hospital and later pronounced dead. The rapper had turned 21 just a week earlier.

The cause of death has not been confirmed an autopsy is still to be done.

Juice WRLD began posting music to SoundCloud in 2015, rising to fame shortly after the release of 2017 EP 9, 9, 9 with singles such as ‘Lucid Dreams’ and ‘All Girls Are the Same’. That early output secured him a deal with Interscope records at the age of 19.

He would go on to collaborate with the likes of Future, Lil Uzi Vert and Brendon Urie. His second studio album, Death Race for Love, was released back in March of this year.

Fellow musicians have taken to social media to pay their respects to Juice WLRD.

“He knows our hearts. I really wish we had more talks like that one night in LA,” wrote Chance the Rapper on Instagram.

“Dude. This is ridiculous. Millions of people, not just in Chicago but around the world are hurting because of this and don’t know what to make of it. Im sorry. Love you and God bless your soul.”

Lil Nas X took to Twitter, saying “rip juice. so sad how often this is happening lately to young talented rising artists.”

Juice WRLD had recently wrapped up an Australian tour back in November.
