Almost as if on queue, Nickelback have announced that something from them is coming later this week, spawning an expected myriad of reactions online.
Taking to Twitter, the Chad Kroeger-fronted band shared a black-and-white animated clip of a car speeding towards a city skyline, backed with thumping percussion and your standard Nickelback crunchy guitar notes. They captioned the post with “FRIDAY 8/14” which, obviously, is this Friday.

This could mark the always divisive band’s return, with this potentially being their first bit of new music since the release of their ninth studio album in 2017, Feed The Machine.
Naturally, the internet has some thoughts with a lot of people believing that we – as a collective – have suffered enough.

However, some people are throwing caution to the wind and defending the band after years of vitriol thrown their way.
