UPDATE 23/07/16: The superstar collab has now been officially released! Catch it below.
A Chinese radio station has proven to be a bit too keen to spin the heavily teased collaboration between Major Lazer and Justin Bieber, and has bumped the track, dubbed Cold Water, almost a week ahead of schedule, meaning you can finally give it a listen right now, unless you can’t in which case sorry, you’re too slow.
For months now, Major Lazer, Dipli and Biebs have been geeing up this collaboration, and it’s hard to imagine anyone being too stoked on said Chinese radio station right now. The track was meant to hit airwaves / headphones this Friday but, well, fuck that.
The track is very, very, very similar to Bieber’s recent works like Sorry or What Do U mean. Boppy, tropical and uptempo, so very is very much on trend with what’s going on in the Top 20 at the moment.
Again, Major Lazer make use of a rare commodity in MØ for the track reprising some of that big-as-fuck Lean On sound but Cold Water is very much the Justin Bieber show.
Major Lazer reckon they’ll be dropping a brand new album next year. Cold Water is the maiden single off it so prepare for a flood of more from the group. You can hear the track in some pretty shakey quality below before it gets taken down.
